At Ignite Supply Co., we believe coffee brewing is more than just a morning habit — it’s a craft. Whether you’re chasing bold, rich flavors or a light, bright finish, the right method and ratio make all the difference.
1. French Press
French Press brings out the rich, oily flavors in your coffee — great for dark roasts and full-body profiles.
· Grind: Coarse, like sea salt
· Brew Time: 4 minutes
· Tip: Stir gently before placing the plunger to ensure even extraction.
· Best For: Rich, full-bodied blends like our Asian Plateau Blend.
What You’ll Need:
· French Press
· Coarse grind coffee
· Hot water (200°F)
· Stirrer
· Timer
How to Brew:
1. Add 1:15 ratio of coffee to water (e.g., 30g coffee to 450g water).
2. Pour in half the water, stir, let bloom for 30 seconds.
3. Add remaining water, place lid without pressing.
4. Steep for 4 minutes, then slowly press down the plunger.
5. Pour and enjoy.
Pro Tip: Don’t let coffee sit too long after plunging—it over-extracts.
2. Pour Over (V60 / Kalita)
This method lets your coffee shine—especially fruity or floral notes.
· Grind: Medium-fine, like table salt
· Brew Time: 2.5–3 minutes
· Tip: Bloom coffee for 30 seconds before continuing the pour.
· Best For: Lighter roasts and floral notes, like Peach Paradise Tea (hot brew).
What You’ll Need:
· V60 or Chemex
· Gooseneck kettle
· Paper filters
· Medium-fine grind coffee
· Scale & timer
How to Brew:
1. Rinse filter to remove paper taste.
2. Add 1:16 ratio (25g coffee to 400g water).
3. Bloom with 50g water for 30 seconds.
4. Slowly pour in circles, adding water in stages.
5. Total brew time: ~3 minutes.
Pro Tip: Use a gooseneck kettle for better control and even saturation.
3. AeroPress
Travel-friendly and flexible—makes anything from espresso-like shots to smooth drip.
· Grind: Medium-fine
· Brew Time: 1–2 minutes
· Tip: Try the inverted method for a bolder cup.
· Best For: Single-origin coffees when you want bold, concentrated flavor.
What You’ll Need:
· AeroPress

4. Place plunger, steep 1–2 minutes.
5. Press slowly.
Pro Tip: Try the inverted method for bolder flavor.
4. Drip Coffee Maker
Perfect for busy mornings and reliable brews, the drip machine is a household staple.
· Grind: Medium
· Brew Time: Varies by machine
· Tip: Use filtered water and fresh beans for the best flavor.
· Best For: Everyday sipping — pairs perfectly with Everyday is Coffee Day mug.
What You’ll Need:
· Medium grind coffee
· Paper or reusable filter
· Drip coffee maker
· Fresh filtered water
How to Brew:
1. Use a ratio of 1:15–1:17 (e.g., 1g coffee per 15–17g water).
2. Insert your filter and rinse it with hot water (if paper).
3. Add ground coffee to the filter.
4. Pour water into the reservoir (200°F is ideal).
5. Brew and enjoy!
Pro Tip: Pre-wet your filter and use filtered water for a cleaner cup.
5. Cold Brew
Perfect for summer or iced coffee lovers—low acidity and ultra-smooth.
· Grind: Coarse
· Brew Time: 12–16 hours in the fridge
· Tip: Use a higher coffee-to-water ratio for a concentrate, then dilute to taste.
· Best For: Summer sipping — pair with Cold Brew Blend.
What You’ll Need:
· Coarse grind coffee
· Large jar or pitcher
· Filter or cheesecloth
· Cold water
How to Brew:
1. Use a 1:4 ratio for concentrate (e.g., 1 cup coffee to 4 cups water).
2. Combine coffee and water in a jar.
3. Stir, cover, and steep in the fridge for 12–24 hours.
4. Strain and enjoy over ice.
Pro Tip: Dilute concentrate 1:1 with water or milk when serving.
6. Espresso
For serious coffee lovers or anyone wanting to level up their home barista skills.
What You’ll Need:
· Espresso machine
· Fine espresso grind
· Tamper
· Scale
How to Brew:
1. Use 18–20g of coffee for a double shot.
2. Tamp evenly with ~30lbs pressure.
3. Brew for 25–30 seconds for a 1:2 yield (e.g., 40g espresso).
4. Serve as-is or use in lattes, cappuccinos, etc.
Pro Tip: Always dial in your grind — too fine = bitter, too coarse = sour.
